Synagogue Services

  • Erev Shabbat services are held on Fridays at 7:00 PM during the summer and at 6:30 PM during the winter. 
  • Services are also held on the High Holidays, Purim, Pesach, Shavouth and Channukah. 
  • There are usually no Shabbat morning services for lack of Minyan. 


There are only about 7-8
 jewish families who are long-term residents of the area. In addition, Judah Hyam Synagogue is the primary place of worship in New Delhi for many Jewish diplomats, business people, artisans and many others from around the world who are based in India's capital city.

In the year 2007, the synagogue welcomed more than 12,000 visitors for worship or tours from all around the world. Jews of any level of observance are welcome at the Judah Hyam Synagogue. Services are conducted both in Hebrew and in English.
